For my first trail review, I thought I would start with the trails closest to home. The best thing about Scout Valley is that it is the only singletrack within riding distance of my house.

It is located on Old Barrie Road and Highway 11 in Orillia, Ontario. There are approximately 8 kilometers of trails but only some of that is singletrack. The terrain ranges from smooth and rolling to very steep, rocky uphills and downhills.

During the week when I usually go there, I am the only rider, but if you're there on the weekend, you will probably meet some hikers.

If I had to travel a great distance, I would probably never go to Scout Valley, but it's nice to have some singletrack within riding distance. It's a fun place to go and play around on the bike without having to drive anywhere. Oh, and it's free.
